At the IFL, we believe that everyone deserves the knowledge and tools to build a secure financial future, regardless of their background or starting point.

OUR STORY

The Institute of Financial Literacy was established in 2022 in South Africa from a simple but powerful observation: financial knowledge shouldn't be a privilege - it should be accessible to everyone.

Despite years of formal education, most people complete schooling without understanding basic money management. The workplaces are filled with employees and employers who lack basic financial skills and knowledge. Unfortunately, our education system leaves critical financial skills untaught. This gap affects millions of people who struggle to budget, save, invest, or build wealth simply because they were never taught how.

We founded the Institute of Financial Literacy to change that!
